PGA Head Professional/Director of GolfThe first thing that strikes you about Dylan Williams, the Director of Golf and head professional at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club, is his enthusiasm for his position. Perhaps this should not be a surprise, as P&K is where he started his golfing life many years ago as a junior golfer and he represented the Club in various competitions at both junior and senior level and in particular The Victory Shield Foursomes. He achieved a handicap of +1 (plus one), a level we hackers can only dream about. He also represented the county. Dylan is a Qualified PGA Director of Golf and Class AAT Professional and part of the management team at Pyle & Kenfig that was awarded the prestigious 2017 GCMA Management Team Awards. Green fees have increased year-on-year by 7.5 per cent – and the club receives consistently strong customer feedback. Some 65 new members arrived as a result of strong marketing techniques and the club has created a pathway that has resulted in a significant increase in junior membership. Having completed his PGA Training at Pyle & Kenfig with former professional Robert Evans. His father is a member and past Captain as is his mother is also a past Lady Captain. His career development includes a stint as an Head Professional at Milford Haven Golf Club and there is an international flavour as he was Club Professional at Golf de Clervaux in Luxembourg. He derives great satisfaction from introducing beginners to the art, science and craft of the game and tweaking the frustrating minor ailments that inevitably creep into the swings of low handicap golfers. Dylan has been in position at Pyle & Kenfig since 2008, and takes pride in stocking his shop at a level consistent with a prestigious club such as P&K. He is aware of the challenges of running a commercial enterprise in these difficult times, but is confident that with his acquired business acumen, his passion for teaching and his commitment to P&K, he will overcome any hurdles that lie ahead.
